Monster Transmission Shifts to Embedded Extend Product Protection, Increases Conversion Rates 120%
It’s additional revenue, easy to set up, and delivers peace of mind to customers while setting us apart from competitors.

Monster Transmission, part of the Burnout Brands family, has been a trusted name in high-performance automotive since 2003. Known for edgy branding, strong industry ties — including features on the Discovery Channel series Fast N’ Loud — and a reputation for customer service, Monster Transmission has become the go-to provider for hobbyists, DIYers, and shops building classic and high-horsepower cars.
But selling transmissions comes with a unique challenge: most customers only need one. Repeat purchases are rare, making revenue growth and customer experience critical to long-term success. That’s why Monster Transmission partnered with Extend.
Why Extend?
When Monster Transmission explored product protection, they quickly realized that building an in-house solution wasn’t practical. “We sell higher-priced items that are critical for people to move around. Liability was a concern — we didn’t want to figure it out ourselves,” said Paul Thiessen, Brand Marketing Manager at BD Diesel, another Burnout Brands company that also partnered with Extend.
Extend offered a professional, reputable solution that was easy to implement through Shopify. Just as important, Extend’s end-to-end claims process is seamless for customers — and hands-off for Monster Transmission’s team. “It really is a no-brainer,” said Thiessen. “It’s additional revenue, easy to set up, and delivers peace of mind to customers while setting us apart from competitors.”
Embedded Product Protection Boosts Monster Transmission’s Growth Trajectory
Monster Transmission took Extend’s program a step further by embedding product protection on eligible purchases. Launched in July 2025, this embedded strategy combined a small discount with a three-year Extend plan automatically included at no additional cost to the customer.
The results were immediate. Before Extend embedded product protection, Monster Transmission had a typical ecommerce conversion rate for its industry. After launching the embedded offer program, conversion rates jumped 120%. Telesales also saw an increase between 30 and 40%, helping Monster Transmission drive revenue and maintain steady margin growth.
They discovered that combining a 5% off promotion — a standard marketing strategy for both brands — with the Extend embedded offer could drive a positive response from customers and aid in margin management. That led to a noticeable jump in revenue and the decision to keep Extend embedded product protection running indefinitely. Both brands have even added prominent messaging to their home pages to help promote the embedded offer and underscore the value to customers.
“The embedded program gave us the right package of value,” said Thiessen. “Customers felt like they were getting a discount and extra protection, which ticked all the boxes for them. It’s helped make us more competitive, 100%.”

Embedded Extend Product Protection Is Better for Business — and Customers
For Monster Transmission Digital Media Specialist Ben Dow, Extend filled a gap in the brand’s offering, since it’s uncommon for aftermarket vehicle components like transmissions to have such extended protection. “We already provided a strong three-year warranty, but Extend extends coverage up to six years. That’s been a huge selling point,” he said.
Customers have responded positively, and the sales team regularly hears how much buyers appreciate the added peace of mind. “No one’s asking us to take it off their order,” Dow said.
The embedded program has also helped Monster Transmission maintain healthy margins. Instead of relying solely on steep discounts to drive conversions, the brand now offers value through protection — an approach that builds trust and strengthens brand equity.
A Competitive Edge for the Road Ahead
With Extend, Monster Transmission has unlocked new revenue, boosted conversion rates, and enhanced its competitive positioning. By embedding product protection directly into the purchase journey, Monster delivers unmatched value to its customers — without adding operational burden.
“It’s peace of mind for our customers, a new revenue stream for us, and it’s incredibly easy to manage,” said Thiessen. “Extend has helped us become more competitive and given our customers confidence that they’re protected long after their purchase.”
For Monster Transmission, Extend is more than just an extended warranty provider; it’s a growth engine.
