Multi-Screen Video Platform Company Announces Major Customer Win and Bolsters European Executive Team with Key Hires
BOSTON, Mass. and LONDON, April 6, 2009 – ExtendMedia Corporation, the leading independent provider of enterprise-class, multi-screen video software and solutions, today announced its growing expansion into Europe with the hiring of experienced senior leadership and a major customer win.
ExtendMedia has appointed seasoned digital media executive Andrew Parker as the company’s senior technology leader for Europe. Parker brings more than 15 years of experience and has developed strategic international growth initiatives for several growing technology providers. He most recently served as Founder and Chief Technology Officer of CacheLogic, a global provider of content delivery services. Andrew joins Roger Sherwood, Extend’s Director of EMEA Sales and Business Development, who joined the team late last year to lead European sales strategy and operations. Sherwood most recently served as Vice President of Global Services at ARRIS, Inc.
Demonstrating ExtendMedia’s new stronghold in the European market, the company and Thales, a leader in passenger entertainment systems based in France, announced a partnership to develop a new platform to revolutionize the way in-flight entertainment media is distributed. The new centralized content management platform eliminates traditional manual processes through a flexible, automated solution that reduces errors, as well as the cost and time between content procurement and delivery to the airline. “We’ve made a major investment in talented, experienced senior leadership because we realize how important the European market is to our business,” said Tom MacIsaac, Chief Executive Officer for ExtendMedia. “With our first European customer win and rapidly growing momentum, we’ve already begun to see the return on that investment.”
